MainTor - A new Urban Space in the City Centre and along the Riverfront

MainTor is the development concept for a site in Frankfurt city centre that has not been open to the public for over half a century. The site between the banking quarter and the bank of the river Main, where the headquarters of the Deutsche Gold und Silber-Scheideanstalt (German Gold and Silver Separation Institute) was once located, was acquired by Deutsche Immobilien Chancen Group in a joint acquisition with Morgan Stanley.

The City of Frankfurt and the DIC Group agreed on an urban reorganisation, which includes the complete redevelopment and opening up of the site to the neighbouring areas of the Frankfurt city centre and down to the river Main. An open and communicative space will be established which will have a central, public square at its main intersection. In addition, residential space will be created in a top location by the river Main.
